We hope everyone grabbed their dads and brought their appetite because on Friday, October 6, the Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School hosted their annual Donuts for Dads. Any student enrolled at NCEMS could bring their dad and come to school and have a donut with them. If the student’s dad wasn't available that day, they could bring their grandpa or uncle.

Donuts for Dads started at 7:15 and ended around 7:50 when students had to leave for class. The school bought a total of 450 donuts from Falls City Mercantile and Evco out of Emporia to make this happen. The kitchen staff prepared the delicious donuts that very morning. The total turnout was around 430 school students and guests.

Many people helped to make Donuts for Dads happen. The staff members that helped at the event were Darcel Stallbaumer, Melinda Jones, Carissa Williams, Julie Lueger, Rose Mueting, and Laura Baumgartner.

“It was pretty fun and the donuts were good,” said Alan Vasquez.

“The donuts were good, I liked how much sugar was on them,” said Gabe Davis.

The Donuts for Dads event went fantastic this year! We hope to have as great of a turnout next year as we did this year.
