On the evening of Thursday, December 7, the Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) organized a spaghetti supper at Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School. This was the fourth year in a row for the spaghetti supper. The supper was held at the same time as the B-team boys and A-team girls basketball games against Frankfort.

For supper, they served spaghetti, salad, breadstick, dessert, and a beverage.  The turnout was great as there were 570 tickets sold and 201 of them were takeout. This is a huge event for the PTO because they use the money to support the students and staff at NCEMS.  Some of the main activities that the PTO uses the profit for are the AR store, the welcome back meal for teachers, and class parties.

PTO president, Carla Hajek said “I really liked that the game started early so that more people could come."

Second-grader, Charli Fleagle said, “I liked the food, and my favorite was the salad.”

At the basketball games, there was also a free will bucket set up and a theme of "Help, Hope, and Healing for the Ukele Family. The two boys from the Ukele family lost their mom, sister, and uncle in a car accident. Their father was also involved in the accident and has a while to recover. NCEMS wanted to show their support for this family.

Thanks to all the families that came out to support the PTO supper and the Ukele Family!
