On Thursday, January 4, the Nemaha Central Middle School boys basketball team played against Wetmore. The B-team played first, then A-team, and then the C-team played a quarter.

In the first quarter, the NC B-team made a great series of plays and offensively took care of the ball to capture a 15-0 lead.  In the second quarter, NC used their offensive momentum to put 10 more points on the scoreboard, holding Wetmore to only 4 points. NC came back on the court with confidence after halftime and had another great quarter, scoring 12 points and holding Wetmore to 2. NC scored 9 points in the final quarter, giving up only 3 points to Wetmore. The final score was 46-9, NC being the victor.

"It was fun," said Brendon Feltner. "We played hard. We were ready for this game."

The A-teams of both NC and Wetmore were on the court next. The first quarter was great for the Thunder team as they took charge outscoring the Cardinals 11-2. In the second quarter, Wetmore scored 2 points again, but NC had another great offensive quarter scoring 13 points. NC had a great offensive drive again in the third quarter scoring 11 points. Wetmore scored 5 points that quarter. In the final quarter, Wetmore outscored NC 6-4. The final score was 39-15, with an NC victory.

"We came out and played well. It was a lot of fun!" said Jeremiah Dalrymple.

Finally, the C-team played for a quarter. Wetmore outscored the Thunder boys in this quarter 7-0.

"We played well, but we lost, sadly. I'm sure we will practice harder," said Preston Koch.
