The Nemaha Central Middle School scholars’ bowl team participated in their final regular season meet in Axtell on Thursday, February 15. Troy, Doniphan West, and Axtell competed alongside NC at the meet.

The first match that took place was NC against Axtell. The A-team secured their fourth win of the season with a score of 130-70. The B-team score of 110-55 was also in favor of the Thunder. NC’s next opponent was the Doniphan West Mustangs. The A-team fought hard in their round but fell just short of winning. The final score of their match was 80-85. The B-team won their second match of the day, with a score of 105-40 against the Mustangs. Only the Thunder A-team participated in the final match against the Troy Trojans. The B-team had already played their match with the Trojans during the first meet at Nemaha Central. The A-team claimed a victory in their last match before the OTL tournament with a score of 125-40.

The A-team ended their regular season 4-4. The B-team found more success and ended their season 6-2.

Gracyn Lierz, seventh grade student, said, “It was really fun and exciting, it was one of my favorite meets that I’ve been to this year. It was my last meet until OTL and I’ve had a lot of fun learning experiences this season.”

Ellie Mady, eighth grade student, said, “We had a lot of fun and really learned a lot. We all really love doing this and hope that the tournament goes well.”
