The Nemaha Central Middle School attended the Oregon Trail League band festival on Monday, March 5. The band festival was held at Doniphan West. Starting with a practice organized by the guest clinician, Jay Koupal, who is a K-State band graduate assistant and a PhD candidate.

The schools in attendance with NC were, Sts. Peter & Paul, Wetmore, Troy, and Doniphan West. The songs performed at the concert were “Big Circus March,” “Baywood Overture,” “Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonnie Doon,” “Attack of the Zombie Trombones,” and “Super Hit Mega-Mix!”

With the OTL bands mixed at the concert, the music sounded really good and loud. Overall, the students put in great effort and it paid off at the concert.

Ellie Mady said, "It was a really good musical experience for all of us. We learned from each other and the different techniques helped us play even better. In the end, I think that we had all improved."

Jaden Thomas said, “It was fun and the pizza was really good.”
