The third graders from Nemaha Central Elementary School went on a field trip to Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City on Tuesday, May 8. At the farm, students learned about different types of trees and how to tell their age. They learned the history of the farm and all about the ecosystem at the Arbor Day Farm.

Students were involved in several physical activities.  They enjoyed rope climbing, a fun activity that promotes physical activity. They planted apple seeds, unfortunately, they didn't grow fast enough for the students to see the result. Most students would agree that they had fun playing in the tree house. It was also a luxury to lay in hammocks and be lazy. Right after that, they got back on their feet and hiked a trail. Lastly, their favorite activity was digging for bugs and insects. They also learned about bees and played in their park.  Overall, the third graders had a wonderful time in Nebraska City.

Austin Jones said, "My favorite part of the Arbor Day Farm was being in their big tree house."

"One fun thing I learned at the Arbor Day Farm was about the different bugs there," said Alexis Spring.
