The Nemaha Central Middle School 8th grade class went to Worlds of Fun for their annual field trip on Friday, May 11. Angie Bass is the sponsor and she organized fundraising and the class trip. The money used to get into the park and for the class t-shirts was raised by the students. Students raised the money by working shifts in the concession stand during the basketball games.

The students boarded the bus that would take them to Kansas City around the start of school. The 8th grade students were sitting anxiously on the bus as they all arrived at the park. When they all began to unload from the bus, all around, there were other schools to be seen.

The group all stood at the front to take a photo together. Once it was taken, students ran to ride one of the more popular rides, The Ripcord. While waiting in line, students were getting excited and their hands were shaking as they were about to ride one of the most exciting rides at the park.

When lunchtime arrived, the students ate lunch that was included in their ticket price for schools. The lunches consisted of a sandwich, bag of chips, cookies, an apple, and their choice of a drink.

Some of the more interesting rides that students liked were the Boomerang, Mamba, Zulu, Ripcord, and the Patriot. On the way home, the bus pulled over in Platte City for supper. The students had a choice of several fast food restaurants in the area. After they all had finished their meals, they loaded the bus and headed home.

Kurtis Beck said, "It was a great experience getting to ride the roller coasters, and I wish we could have stayed longer."

“I almost chickened out of a couple rides, but at the end of the day it was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed my last middle school field trip," Katelynn Scott said.

The eighth grade students enjoyed their last NCEMS field trip together and look forward to other class adventures in high school. Congratulations to the 8th graders and we wish them the best of luck in the future!
