Christmas festivities kicked off on Thursday, December 20 for students in the preschool through fifth-grade classrooms.  The elementary school students played games involving a Christmas theme and ate snacks prepared by Mrs. Angie Bass.  The preschool had "Santa Poop," which is a combination of chocolate cereal with marshmallows and the other students had red and green gelatin.

The Parent Teacher Organization has volunteers that come up with the games and lead them in the classrooms for the teachers.  Some of the games were guessing games, unwrapping presents with gloves, drawing snowmen with dice, putting decorations on wreaths while blindfolded, making snowmen with marshmallows, and Charades.  The students had fun with their classmates and a lot of laughs were shared during the activities.

“We had fun, we ran around and played games,” said first-grader, Brooklyn Korber.

Second Grader, Tyson Beebe-Dishong said, “The party was fun, we got to play lots of games, and eat some good food.”

The parties were a great foreshadowing of what Christmas break is going to be like. NCEMS would like to wish all the students, parents, and staff a very Merry Christmas!
