The Nemaha Central third and fourth-grade Lyrics and Literacy night was held on Monday, March 4. Mrs. Chelsey Haverkamp organized the lyric part of the event while the third and fourth-grade teachers, Mrs. Tamela Becker, Mrs. Amy Larkin, Mrs. Bethany Griffith, Mrs. Jessica Koch, Mrs. Carissa Williams, and Mrs. Dani Reinecke planned the literacy part.

The first part of the show was held at the Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School gym. The students sang and performed four different songs including, “Hound Dog,” "At the Hop,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Donde Esta El Tesoro?” These "Oldies but Goodies" songs were sung by the students while they were dressed back in that era with poodle skirts and letter jackets.

"It was a 10/10 night. It was really fun," said Parker Bergman.

The third graders did a fantastic job with their songs playing their recorders.  Their solos were very impressive.

"It was really fun, and one thing I liked was that we all got a part in it and no one was left out," said Lila Carpenter.

The second part of the night was held in the classroom where students showed their families artwork and projects that they had worked on throughout the year.  The third graders showed a leprechaun writing/art project and various other projects. Fourth grade students showed a social studies green screen project, merit badges for reading comprehension, and book creator projects.

Mrs. Jessica Koch said, “We had many parents, grandparents, and family members come. Students enjoyed showing their activities from the year."
