The first grade classes at Nemaha Central Elementary School celebrated the 120th Day of School. When students came to school, their desks were in the shape of the number 120. At the beginning of the day, the first grade students made headbands that said 120 on it. The first graders also made a mystery picture. They wrote 120 words using word families and did 12 exercises after every 10 words. The students played a game with dice called "Race to 120." They rolled the dice and added them until they reached the sum of 120. The first graders also enjoyed making a snack mix in which they had 12 snack items and counted out 10 of each item. When they finished, they had 120 items in their snack mix to eat while wearing pajamas and watching Free Willy.

Maleki Barrett said, “I thought the best part was making the 120th day trail mix.”

“I thought the best part was watching the movie Free Willy,” said Caleb Frye.
